René has over 20 years experience in international private label. He started his career in trade marketing, where he was responsible as a consultant for major branded goods companies including Coca-Cola.
With this experience he moved into the DIY sector at J.W. Ostendorf where he discovered his passion for private label. After a few years he switched to the home and body care category at Luhns where he worked in product management and later on as Director of Sales and Marketing. His focus was international discount. He was able to expand the business significantly through strategic concepts in product development and marketing.
Then he moved on to Wilkinson Sword, where he built up the private label division in the DACH region. In various key account functions he gained extensive experience in international discount, food retail and drugstore channels.
René understands how to combine private labels within a branded goods company, how to develop the position as dual tracker successfully and how to exploit this both internally and externally. In this context, he was able to gain significant and strategically important listings at major retail groups and purchasing organisations and had major success with tenders for both permanent listings and in-out promotions.
With analytical know-how, a holistic view and knowledge of all relevant channels, he was able to influence and convince on important product range decisions.
René speaks German as his mother tongue and is fluent in English.
